I’m off to see Skyfall, woop woop!

Didn’t even watch Quantum of Solace or whichever was the 2nd Daniel Craig, but I’m not too worried about that. It’s Bond. And it looks fun.

Just decided to listen to Pandora’s 90’s pop radio and wow, nostalgia, and, like, wow. I really love most of the songs they’re playing. It’s a good sign when they start my favorite 90’s song right after I hit play.

Good on you, Pandora.

So I’m trying to find the information about check-out from my current apartment for the summer, and instead what I come across is the housing handbook, and these gems:

“g. Climbing, repelling on walls or tightrope walking is prohibited.”

Firstly, they didn’t even spell rappelling correctly. Secondly, TIGHTROPE WALKING?

I know some idiot tried to hang a hammock on an indoor fire sprinkler 2 years ago and flooded their apartment, but what did tightrope walking ever do? Plus, TIGHTROPE WALKING?

“j. Dropping, tossing, rolling, or throwing any object out of windows or down stairwells is prohibited.”

No slinkies?

“d. Markings of any kind (chalk, paint, etc) in or around on-campus housing is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, sidewalks, buildings, grass and trees.
e. Objects placed in windowsills are permissible only if they are meant to enhance the interior decor of the room and do not block the use of the window. Signs, flags, posters, or any other objects that impede the use of the window, to see through, or to let in light, are not permitted. Window coverings installed in each room are not to be modified and, along with windows, window screens and window boards, must be kept in place at all times. Nothing is to be adhered to or posted on the inside or outside of room doors.”

These are the ones that piss me off the most. They’re really trying to quash all creativity. NOT EVEN SIDEWALK CHALK WHAT THE HELL?

• turning off your computer and monitor when not using it.”

Who still has both a computer anda monitor in college?
… Oh, right, I actually know someone who does. Because he’s got a 23-inch screen. *eyeroll*

Guh. These are just a few. I don’t even know why I kept reading, none of the information I needed was there anyway…

EDIT: Just found this-

“Cardboard or paper cartons cannot be stored in rooms because of the additional fire hazard.”
Preceded, of course, by these:
“g. Posters, flags, drapes, paper lanterns, or other flammable materials cannot be hung from ceilings, doorways, windows, closets, or from furniture. Posters can be hung normally from walls but must be affixed to the wall at all four corners.

They really must think everyone here is an arsonist or at least a pyromaniac. Thanks for all the trust.

So… My organic chemistry book is literally telling me how to create crack cocaine rather than creating “free-base” cocaine, which is “hazardous” (apparently regular cocaine isn’t) and more challenging to create for smoking:

A simpler alternative is to mix a paste of cocaine hydrochloride with *** *** [redacted because if you want to know badly enough I’m certain you can find it elsewhere but I don’t feel like being responsible in any part for you making crack in the really unlikely chance someone reading this was just wondering what the last ingredient was that they needed… no thanks] and let it dry into ‘rocks’. This mixture is called ‘crack cocaine because it makes a crackling sound when heated.

… Okay, thanks textbook. Not quite the insight I was expecting.

I finished all my finals! YUSSSS

Not that it has any direct impact on you lovely people, aside from a possible increase in my flooding your dash with reblogs. But I thought I would share my jubilation at having a week of mental bliss… with a very small selection of applicable gifs.

I just found out that Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd were in town.

Why do I never hear about these things BEFORE they happen? Why is it always an (and I quote, more or less, from memory) “oh guess who I literally WALKED INTO on Saturday? The guys who play Merry and Pippin.”

Apparently there was a short film awards night here at the really cool old-style movie theater. And one of my classmates actually ran into Dominic Monaghan and said she didn’t recognize him at first and. And yeah. (Then she did, obviously.)
